Steven Eagell Group has bought the Toyota Centre in Oxford for an undisclosed sum. The former owner was Inchcape Retail.
CEO, Steven Eagell, said: “I am very pleased to confirm we have completed the purchase of the Toyota Centre in Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to further our relationship and success with Toyota. It is a great fit for us both strategically and geographically. The business is both long-established and successful, so we are delighted to be adding this Centre to the group.
Mr Eagell said his initial priority will be the integration of the new business into the group, with minimum disruption. “We are looking forward to welcoming new team members and working together to continue to provide a first-class service to customers.”
The total number of sites operated by the privately-owned Steven Eagell Group is now 32, including 23 Toyota and 9 Lexus. George Ashford, Inchcape UK CEO said: “The sale of Toyota Oxford is in line with Toyota’s overall strategy to reshape their market areas. We recently completed the purchase of Toyota Warrington from Bentleys Motor Group, reflecting our strong presence in the north. Steven Eagell has a long-standing history in the South, however. This makes them a good business to take on the well-established and successful Oxford centre.”
The Oxford business will complement Steven Eagell’s Toyota and Lexus representation. The group’s territory in the Southeast, East of England and West Midlands.
