SsangYong appeals to Vauxhall retailers
SsangYong could fill some of its 35 network open points from the pool of Vauxhall retailers soon to lose their franchise.
Vauxhall has issued termination notices to all 326 of its franchise retailers and will only reappoint just over 200. SsangYong boss Nick Laird announced he was hoping to recruit some of those losing out on a new Vauxhall franchise.
Mr Laird said: “We’re hiring. We have 35 open points and if there are some smaller, privately owned, retail franchises then we would be happy to talk to them. I, and I suspect everyone, feels for the Vauxhall network now.”
Mr Laird added that that good local retailers could possibly put SsangYong and another franchise into a former Vauxhall showroom.
