Motorpoint is to create over a dozen new jobs with the opening of a purpose-built Vehicle Preparation Centre in Motherwell.

Motorpoint is the UK’s largest independent car retailer and has been based in Mount Vernon, Glasgow for almost 20 years. The company is relocating its existing Vehicle Preparation Centre to the new eight-acre facility on Wilsons Road in early August. The move is to support ambitious growth plans for the business across Scotland. The majority of the existing preparation team in Glasgow are relocating to Motherwell.  A few will remain at the branch to oversee the various pre-collection checks that are carried out on all vehicles as part of the company’s Quality Standard.

The news comes soon after Motorpoint was named a Top 20 Company to Work for in Scotland by Best Companies. It was also named the Best Company to Work For in the automotive sector.

Once operational, the Motherwell team will have the capacity to process up to 20,000 cars and LCV’s per year. The new 49,000 square foot central hub is the largest of its kind within Motorpoint.

Terry Burns, Operations Manager at Motorpoint, explained: “Motorpoint is rapidly expanding. To help facilitate this growth in Scotland, we need to fill a number of roles to support the existing team relocating to our new Northern Vehicle Preparation Centre this summer in Motherwell.

“We are extremely keen to hear from anyone who is looking to make that next step within the automotive sector. Applicants should have a desire to work for a multi-award-winning company that can help move their career up a gear.”

Motorpoint currently stocks over 6,000 low mileage, nearly new cars and light commercial vehicles from over 30 different manufacturers. Every vehicle from Motorpoint comes with the balance of manufacturer’s warranty backed by the Motorpoint Price Promise. This means Motorpoint will refund the difference to any customer who finds the same car cheaper within seven days of their order. As a bonus, it will also give the customer £50 worth of Amazon vouchers to spend.

Motorpoint has on-going COVID-19 safeguarding processes; all vehicle collections will be completed in specially designated areas. Social distancing is guaranteed while an online portal means the car buying experience is completely paperless. Customers are even able to sign for their new car using their mobile phone. Furthermore, every purchase, whether it is instore or online, is backed by a 14-day money back guarantee.
