A serious fire at Day’s Motorpark in Gorseinon, Swansea, has destroyed and damaged more than 20 vehicles. These include motorhomes, vans, and cars.

The blaze, believed to have started accidentally, broke out on Thursday August 29 at the dealership located on Swansea Road. A large-scale emergency response followed.

The dealership’s giant dinosaur model in the forecourt was engulfed in thick black smoke which was captured billowing into the sky. Firefighters were called to the scene at around 2:15pm, deploying five fire engines and a specialist appliance to combat the flames.

A 25-year-old man sustained injuries in the fire but was treated by paramedics on-site and did not suffer any serious harm.

Extensive damage was caused with seven motorhomes completely destroyed and six others severely damaged. Four cars, eight vans, and a minibus were also damaged.

Nearby buildings were evacuated, and police assisted firefighters in managing traffic. A section of Swansea Road was closed.

Fire crews remained on the scene until 4:50pm to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and the area was safe. Residents in the area were advised to stay indoors and keep their windows and doors closed.
