Dews Motor Group Closes Down
Yorkshire-based auto retailer Dews Motor Group has closed down. The company, which had been operating for 106 years, ceased trading on 11 March. A post on the retailer’s Facebook page announced the closure.
It said: “After 106 years of serving the motorists of Calderdale, this was a very difficult decision to make – however as the motor industry continues to evolve, smaller firms such as Dews continue to struggle to remain competitive. As a result the Directors have decided to close the business.”
The family-owned auto retailer had been a long-standing Vauxhall franchise, and had also represented Alfa Romeo, Ford and Peugeot. After a recent business restructuring in 2015 the company took on a Mitsubishi franchise.
