SsangYong Motors UK has confirmed the introduction of 16 new franchised dealerships in the last 12 months.  14 of which are ex-Mitsubishi sales dealers.

Kevin Griffin, managing director at SsangYong Motors UK, said: “This brand has undergone dramatic transformation over the past few of years. A new growth strategy has been implemented and new and more exciting products have been introduced. All whilst maintaining a firm focus on the expansion of our dealer network. Our dealer portfolio is of paramount importance to our customers. Our focus on appointing new, good dealers will help to generate more brand awareness providing buyers with even more confidence.”

On the back of the hugely successful revision of all models, including an extended Musso pick-up range, the brand offers a very clear product portfolio of SUV, 4×4 and pick-up models – all of which are growing sectors. To support this growth, SsangYong will need strong, evenly spread representation. We anticipate an increase to a 75 strong network by mid-2022.

SsangYong has an interesting approach to franchising. Its proposition is unique and endeavors to change how prospect’s view operating a new-vehicle franchise by presenting no up-front fees, zero-cost signage, and no charges for special tools or computer diagnostics – ensuring that representing the brand is highly appealing and easily accessible.

Dave Rose, head of franchising for SsangYong Motors UK, explains; “We want to make it easy for dealers to join our franchise, so we’ve removed unnecessary barriers. We have big plans in place to develop the network even further over the next 12 months. If we achieve these plans, we will be absolutely delighted!”

The latest five dealers to join the network are Palmers Hemel Hempstead, Holt SsangYong Derby, Balmer Lawn Southampton, Fields SsangYong in Dunley and North City Autos in Chingford.
